Our Designer Divya of @stringtierey has again put together a video tutorial for this calendar week to help explicate sure stitches and construction tecniques.

Insert hook into the side by side st (or ch sp), yo, pull up a loop, (2 loops on the hook), yo, insert hook into the side by side st, yo, pull upward a loop, (4 loops on the claw) yo, pull through 2 loops, (3 loops on the hook) yo, pull through final 3 loops.

dcsc2tog: double crochet single crochet 2 together Yo, insert hook into the next st (or ch sp), yo, pull up a loop (three loops on the hook), yo, pull through 2 loops, (2 loops on the hook), insert hook into the adjacent st, yo, pull upwards a loop, (3 loops on the hook) yo, pull through last 3 loops.

NOTES:

  • ch2/ch1 at the start of the Row, doesn't count as a St.
  • This bag is a constructed equally a rectangular flat piece first and then the corners are worked to form the shape of the purse.
  • Blueprint is worked in flat rows by turning at the stop of each row for the body, and in the circular for the edging and shaping.
  • The instructions are written in crochet autograph, for eg. "sc two" ways single crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, "2sc" means make 2 single crochet in the aforementioned stitch.
  • Stitch count is mentioned in Brackets as [#] at end of row.
  • Blocking is a must for this project to achieve the desired look.

SCHEMATICS:

The bag is created by making a rectangle and then sinching the 4 corner points to create the shape. Nevertheless instead or a normal rectangle we shall be starting from one corner and working our way u to create the remaining 3 corners of the rectangle.

RECAP:

We ended week 1 at Row 48 for gohibulky yarn users and Row 60 for gobulky users, both in contrast color. This end was the corner signal 2 for both options.

Pattern INSTRUCTIONS – WEEK 2:

For this calendar week, nosotros shall extend the shape to create a recangle and reach corner oint three and continue to subtract both sides to reach corner indicate 4.
To create the rectangular shape, we shall exist decreasing on one side and go along increasing on the other side, till we reach corner point 3. Then we shall decrease on both sides, till we reach corner point 4.

– 5.0 mm normal crochet hook if you are using dk/heavy dk yarn.
– 3.5 mm normal crochet hook if yous are using sport weight yarn.

Inspiration and Purpose:

IndiaYarncircle aspires to be aware and mindful of the things we do equally a community together. Ane of the things we envisioned, was use crafts as a means to recycle reuse and reduce waste and plastic consumption. Getting the community involved together to participate in a "Avoid Plastic Campaingn" became an idea we pursued. Nifty Thrifty Eco CAL

Equally a collaboration with Gokraftz yarns, nosotros decided on a reusable crochet cotton wool bag equally our projection, useful for daily apply for groceries and other shopping. Designed past our very own IYC member Divya Bhat of Stringtierey, the Nifty Thrifty Eco Bag is a uniquely constructed market place tote bag. This beginner project is easy to make, light, and meshy, making it the perfect textile for a tote pocketbook.

Materials and Yarn:

The Purse design has an choice to exist made in two different types of yarn,

Gobulky yarn – sport weight yarn – 100gms each in 2 colours – full 200gms

Gohibulky Yarn – heavy DK weight yarn. – 150 gms each in 2 colours – total 300gms.

Notes

When the instructions say bring together with dc, information technology ways that instead of joining to the first sew with a sl st, you make a dc in the first st. This week is all well-nigh the cord, tassels, straps and different ways of making it! So lets dive in!

Cord, Tassels, Strap

Cord

We can make either a braided cord or a kumihimo cord.

1) Braided Cord: If you lot are using a braided cord, this style y'all can measure the length.
                           Put a piece of any color yarn through the holes of the bag and tie it the way y'all desire.
                           And measure this length.
                           Take a couple of yarns of all 5 colors and dissever them into three sections and outset
                           braiding.
